Luttrell Suite – Hot Tub, Sleeps 2

If you’ve ever walked around a stately home and imagined sleeping in one of those historic bedrooms, this could be the closest you’ll get.

Steeped in history this, our most exclusive room, is literally like stepping back in time to 1690.  Featuring an impressive Kingsize four poster bed at its heart and furnished with antiques, a stay in the Luttrell Suite is a unique experience that guests return for time and time again.

A dog-friendly room, it is situated on the first floor and has a wealth of period features; high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling gilded wooden panelling, wide elm planked floor and a recently discovered cast iron Georgian hob grate within original bolection surround.

The antique French chandelier casts a golden glow over modern armchairs and a bespoke painted panel mural. The large sash windows face South, from which you can enjoy fine views over the village and up the valley.

The brand new en-suite has been sympathetically refurbished with period-style fittings. It is half-panelled and features a spacious shower with a choice of rainfall shower head and hand-held on a riser.

Bespoke furnishings include sumptuous curtains and bed drapes made from vintage silk damask, all lined with luxurious velvet.

*QUIRKY FACT – Evidence of historic paint colours used can be seen inside the door frame to the en-suite bathroom. Having hand-scraped it back to the original paint, it has been sealed and permanently exposed.

Due to its Grade II Listed status, the installation of TV aerials would cause too much damage to the fabric of the house, so there are NO TELEVISIONS in our guest bedrooms. Please feel free to bring a tablet or laptop to stream programmes using our Wifi.  Alternatively, why not embrace a tech-free stay and enjoy one of our many boardgames?
