Chinoiserie Dining Room

Our historic, sunny Dining Room recreates an elegant Chinoiserie theme, popularised in the Regency period when Europeans held an overwhelming fascination with China and East Asia.

The wonderfully complete original panelling, appropriately painted in ‘Dayroom Yellow’ by Farrow & Ball, is enhanced further with a simply stunning artist-commissioned mural on two walls, and Oriental influences have been carefully curated to complete the look.

Breakfast like a King on a table set with white linen tablecloth, antique silver cutlery, vintage bone china crockery and huge linen napkins. Fresh flowers in crystal vases and classical music playing softly in the background combine to ease you gently into the day ahead.

Dine by candlelight! We cook formal evening meals once or twice a week – please enquire as to whether it coincides with your stay.

Additionally, Bar meals are available in the Club Lounge every night- please click here to see the menu.

Pop-Up Restaurant

Dine by candlelight in our beautiful Chinoiserie Dining Room on one of our monthly pop-up restaurant nights throughout the Winter months, open to both guests and non-residents.

The format is a single-sitting 3-course fixed menu, so you can relax in the knowledge that the table is yours for the entire evening.

Space dictates that we are strictly limited to 5 tables so, if you see a menu you like, book quickly to avoid disappointment as that menu won’t come around again until next year!

Breakfast

Set yourself up for a day exploring beautiful Exmoor with a delicious home-cooked breakfast!

Wake to the aroma of freshly-baked bread wafting from the kitchen, which tastes even better when topped with a generous helping of homemade jam or marmalade.

Enjoy a tastier breakfast using locally sourced ingredients, including award-winning sausages and bacon from Little Oak Farm just two miles distant, and our free-range eggs from the village.  (If you love our sausages, you can buy some to take home from Sarah at The Post Office in the village).

Menus

We can cater for specific dietary requirements if requested at the time of booking. Please note, as we are a small B&B, we do not keep huge stocks of these items and buy to order.
